Vasectomies
Dr. Basile performs the "No Scalpel Technique" for his vasectomies. Numbing cream is applied to the scrotal area and left to soak in for two hours for the most comfortable experience possible. The area is infiltrated with lidocaine for more anesthesia. The vas deferens is identified and clipped, cut and cauterized for ensure sterilization. A "jock strap" is worn for support during the recovery period. Recovery is usually one week of soreness which is relieved with Vicodin or Alleve. Dr. Basile recommends 20 consecutive ejaculations before testing the semen for active spermatozoa.
